BIOGRAPHY

Rochelle is an American multi-genre singer, songwriter, recording artist, actress, and spokesperson. She is sought after for her thunderous “big voice” and spirited performances. Renowned for her powerful rendition of the “The Star-Spangled Banner,” she has performed the National Anthem on grand stages for President Bill Clinton during President Barack Obama’s administration for the U.S. Congress; at a Miami Dolphins NFL Game; and at the U.S. Soccer (WNT) for the SheBelieve’s World Cup on ESPN Sports before an international audience of over 6 million people.

Rochelle was born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Dallas, Texas, and is the second of four siblings. Rochelle is considered a naturally gifted vocal phenomenon, or prodigy, since her vocal ability discovered at just 18 months old. In 1993, she returned to Miami and later obtained management degrees from Miami Dade College and Florida International University.

As a mezzo-soprano, Rochelle exudes a colorful range of velvety vocals, with a classic style influenced by treasured musical legends such as; Mahalia Jackson, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Bessie Smith, Lena Horne, Nat King Cole, Barbra Streisand, Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson, Phyllis Hyman, Aretha Franklin, Pattie Labelle, Duke Ellington, Rachelle Farrell, Anita Baker and Whitney Houston.

In 2011, Rochelle debuted her Christmas Album entitled “The Gift,” and in 2014 she released a “Big Band Jazz” album entitled “Jazzy Classics.” Currently, she is recording her first original Album “Rochelle Lightfoot – The Tender Part of Me”. Her songs and lyrics are inspired by her real-life experiences and mission to “Touch the world through song”. The songs on her upcoming album are a blend of Rhythm & Soul, with a lovely twist of Smooth Jazz undertones, which she has written and co-produced. Her new album is highly anticipated, with its’ first two singles slated to be released during the Summer of 2018.

Her multi-genre style also flows throughout her other disciplines; as a Praise and Worship Minister,
motivational speaker, and as a spokeswoman for select philanthropic initiatives throughout South Florida. Rochelle has opened for numerous legendary musical artists, big screen celebrities, political dignitaries and has an esteemed fan base throughout the United States & internationally. Her debut professional performance was for Dr. Maya Angelou at age 20, and for over 25 years, Ms. Lightfoot has been celebrated by audiences, as she amazes them with her unique soulful sound and sophisticated style.
